Hello, new cruising friends. We are Milton (goes by middle name, Hoyt) and Carolynn, aka "Cruzin Lady." There is no doubt that we are travel addicts, and mostly cruise addicts! Although we have sailed on five different cruise lines, our favorite by far is RC, and we have reached Diamond Plus status. We usually book consecutive cruises, because 7 days just isn't enough time for us.

We are both retired (what a wonderful word!) high school teachers from Garland, TX, part of the DFW Metroplex. Some of our best friends are those we have met cruising. Cruisers, in general, are lovely people. We just overlook those who aren't.

Hoyt loves almost every sport there is, but he is a spectator, not a participant, saying that TV is his favorite way to watch sports. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 15 years, then went to college, and finally retired after 20 years of teaching in 2000.

I, Carolynn, had two teaching stents. After I had taught for 7 years, I resigned to care for our baby daughter and was a wife and mom. When she went to the 6th grade, I started teaching again. In all, I taught for 25 years and retired in 1997.

Hoyt and I are very proud of the fact that we just celebrated 47 years of marriage in early August. We are happy that our daughter and son-in-law also have a good marriage. We have 2 grandsons, who are both in high school, and one Grand-dog, a German Short-haired Pointer, named Rolo. He came from a rescue and is adored and spoiled by all of us!

I love to read and can do so much better now that I have just recovered from having cataract surgery on both eyes. I also am doing a little teaching by working with a lovely 25 year old Hispanic woman. She is legal, and speaks and understands English!!! We are working on questions that will be on the citizenship test. When she takes it. I can hardly wait to get to go to her naturalization ceremony, as I did when a former student received
his citizenship. By the way, if you have never attended such a ceremony, try to do so, because it is very moving. I got goose bumps several times during the event, and shed some tears of joy for my former student and for our wonderful country.

Another thing we enjoy is playing Texas/Mexican/Train Dominoes and have played one night a month for 35 years with the same people whom we met at church.

We are looking forward to our annual after the holidays R&R, when we will get to meet all of you.
