We are doing a back to back on the Noordam, beginning on February 3, the second year we have done this cruise; HAL tweaks the itinerary so there are a few different ports this year. We started cruising in February 2006, loved it, and it's been our "vacation of choice" since then! Our first cruise was a 7 day on Princess and that was just not long enough. Next, we tried HAL (and haven't looked back!)...the 10 day ms Noordam cruise to the Caribbean out of NYC for 2007 and 2008. Last year, the Voyage of the Good Nuts and the 10 day cruise beyond it....our first b2b. We found 20 days to be perfect for us. So, that's what we're doing again this year! Since 1994, we have owned a bed and breakfast inn on Nantucket Island, a very magical island off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We are seasonal, open from April through October. Prior to that, Fred was a college professor; I held a variety of jobs. In the 70's we owned a children's specialty shop; then Fred went back to teaching, I moved on with temporary secretarial work, then writing the weekly paper for a Boston bank, then finally ending up as a HR Manager for a small company southwest of Boston. In the early 90's and during that downturn in the economy, we both lost our jobs...and took the plunge to use what equity we had in our home and buy the inn. We have two daughters, and five grandchildren...four girls ..and the youngest is a boy - they range from nine down to "almost" two! When we close the inn for the season, we return to Hingham...our kids and grandkids are all nearby so we see them as often as we can. We have two furpals: Britta, a soon to be 13 year old Brittany, and Minnie, a soon to be 6 year old Norwich Terrier. They are definitely
our babies and bring us much joy! We have a pet sitter who moves
into our house when we go away. Britta is fine at home but gets We look forward to meeting everyone at the Meet & Greet! Sheila and Fred Heap, Resident Innkeepers/Owners Centre Street Inn Inquiries: 508.228.0199 |
